| I want to take this opportunity to talk about something that really bothers me. I just recently recieved a comment about my xanga and my choices, obviously created off of no knowledge of myself or my beliefs...
Hello Jeff, I like your site. You worked hard to make it simple yet elegant. It’s obvious that God is important to you but I can’t help noticing that you are a member of the “Jesus Is My Homeboy” blog ring. Would Jesus really like being called our homeboy? Everywhere Jesus went his friends all called him “my lord” to show their respect for him as God’s son. At the end, he was beaten, spat upon, ridiculed and left to die in the sun for us. I myself would never call such a great man “my homeboy”. Is “homeboy” a title worthy of our savior after all he has done for us? As our king, he will begin his reign soon: 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16) (NIV) I wonder how many people would call him “homie” realizing that?
This was left as a comment. I have a few issues with people/programs people wrote that go around picking out "flaws" that people have. Lets examine this real quick... I can’t help noticing that you are a member of the “Jesus Is My Homeboy” blog ring. Lets look at this area. Do I think Jesus would like being called a homeboy? Now I don't have a problem with the message sent in this, but there are several things I do have problems with.
1) This is obviously a mass produced comment based on the nature that it was constructed in. I would never be single out out of an entire blog ring to have a sermon like this preached to me.
2) This "sermon" could be better used towards a group of people who have no relationship with Christ. I have my own relationship with Jesus Christ. I feel that it is a very healthy relatioship and that I love and respect him. Throughout his life Jesus was constantly making friends. I know that he would love to be concidered the friend of all people who loved him. Times has also changed since the bible was written. "Homeboy" is not a derogatory term. It's a term that describes a friendship between people. So that being said, I love Jesus and I love God.
3) Someone obviously took the time to put this message out there. Now the fact that it is of religious content I'm sure we all remember something the bible says..."Judge not lest ye be judged." Matthew 7:1 Look I can quote scripture too. The fact that someone I don't know, nor do they know me comes out of the blue and places a judgement upon me with no backing, short of a blog ring that I belong to. This is directly controvercial to the very thing they are trying to preach about. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." John 8:7 Tell me how to live my life but don't even think about what you're doing to try and achieve this???
I guess those are the main things I have to say about that. Really I don't like when poeple tell other people that they're doing something wrong. 'Cause I garentee that there is not a single person out there in this crazy world who has ntohing wrong with them, who has never committed sin or any act of cruelty. Now...think about what I've just told you before you go out and tell someone you don't even know and have never, nor will ever meet, that the way they're living teir life, or the way they act or speak is the wrong way. Just think about it. I'm not saying don't talk to people about things they do, go right ahead. Just make sure you're not making yourself look like a complete idiot in the way you try to do so, or the thing you try to convince someone of.
As for me, I have a Jesus is my Homeboy shirt. I wear it with pride because in my heart I know and love Jesus. The End.
| long time no update so here goes!
This weekend was my last band competition ever! BOA super regionals in San Antonio. We marched Friday at like 4 o'clock. I think we did a really good job. But alas...it wasn't good enough to make finals. We still don't have the final results from prelims, but I'll bet we made like 15th or 16th. So then Saturday we went to Luby's...GAY! and then watched the rest of the prelims til like 4:00pm. It took like an hour to go through the award ceremony...since there were 66 bands. We got a first division but not finals...so that was the end of my marhcing career. We ended up leaving at like 6:30 so we didn't stay for finals, yay!
Saturday ngiht me and Kaylee went to Brusters, the new ice cream place on louetta. It was yummy, cept the icecream was huge! I ate like a third of mine. So we just chilled for the rest of the night. Then Sunday we went to church. I'm glad I got to go, origionally we were gonna stayf or finals so I woudln't have been home til like 3am...well since we got home early I got to go to church. So after church we went over to Kaylee's and cooked lunch. then we came over to my house. We were working on homework, I played some guitar, then made Kaylee a myspace.
Guess that was my weekend...good night Houston!
| Woah! its like 4:30 on a weekday and I'm home!
Today we had a super short band rehersal just to go over the stuff for homecoming. It took all of 30 minutes and I've actually been home since 3:45ish. It's so awesome. I can't wait for marhcing to be over and we only have like a week and a half left. Band isn't all bad though. We had a contest last night and it went really well. The band as a whole had a pretty good performance. Personally though it was the ebst I had ever played the show. And at the very end of the show I got to lead the band off the field! Pretty cool huh. Well It's only cause I'm the furthest over on the side of the field but still exciting.
Anyways Kaylee is on her way over so I thought I'd update while I waited for her to get here. This week has been awesome (being homecoming week and all). Today was nerd day and both Kaylee and I went all out. Some random person out in front of the choir room walks up to us and says soemthing like, "OMG! yall are so cute can I take your picture?" haha yeah it was kinda funny 'cause neither of us had ever seen her before. Well we enetertained her request and went on with out lives knowing some random person has a picture of us dressed up like nerds !
Tomorrow is decades day and the big group of us that went to renfest together arer all wearing our renfest costumes! it's gonna be great! Then tomorrow night me and kaylee are exchaing mum and garter! I can't wait to see what she did to it 'cause she's been working on it like nonstop for the past two weeks! I really hope she loves mine too. There's alot of cool stuff on it even if I didn't spend a solid three weeks making it. I think it looks alot better than the one Kaylee had last year and apparently that was a really good one so I hope the one I made her will be even better than good! I think we might go get some plain t-shirts and puffy paint and make out own homecoming shirts for Friday also since we didn't order them.
Well I think Kaylee's here now so I'm gonna go. Later! ~Jeff
| Wow, so its been quite a while since I've updated so I hope this will be a good one.
Tonight me and Kaylee went to the Mitchel Pavillion in the woodlands and heard the Houston Symphony, for free. All of the lawn tickets were free so Andy tried to get a big group of band people to go. I don't know how many actaully cause me and kaylee drove seperately and never found any others. It was lots of fun. They played a bunch of pop holloween type stuff. Then there was this guest performer who had some crazy electrical instrument. and then busted out a carpender's saw and played a merry tune. It was entertaining.
So lets see...what else has been going on in my life. I went to Renfest last weekend with Kaylee, Britni, Lisa, and Laura. It was muy fun. In a nut shell, the girls kept getting hit on a lot, and lots of people asked me how I got four beautiful ladies to accompany me all day long. Oh and then of course Armando the Spanish Pirate. He was a little questionable but it was all good. He was talking to us for like 45 minutes, during the pirate show none the less...glad to know he was doing his job.
Band is crazy. We've gone about three weeks now without a single day off. Not even weekends off, we keep having games and stuff on saturdays. I'm so ready to be done with marching forever! At least we get done at 4:45 tomorrow.
Next week is homecoming week! I'm so looking forward to the dressup days, they're gonna be great! Then saturday is the homecoming dance and I get to take my baby! I love you Kaylee!
| So it's 7:15 right now. I don't have to be at school for another hour which is totally awesome. I woke up at like 6:56 this morning, wide awake, and my alarm is set for 7. So I figured I would just lay in bed until 7. I ended up falling back alseep and woke up more tired that I had been 4 minutes before. I know it's not a very good story, but the moral is...
I get to sleep later than you 'cause I don't have a first period!
